Erica Harold is a retired special education teacher with a degree from SUNY Geneseo and graduate credits from New Paltz and CW Post, having worked in both public and private schools including NYS Developmental Center in Wassaic. She taught adult basic education for Dutchess County BOCES and special education for Western Suffolk BOCES.
Mrs. Harold has been happily married for 50 years, with two children and three grandchildren. After a fall at home, she received treatment at SBELIH (then-ELIH) and wanted to give back to the hospital. She sits on the Marketing committee and is also the secretary of the Board.
Mrs. Harold feels her greatest accomplishment was after the passage of Public Law 94-142 in 1975, when she was able to serve the needs of children who had been languishing in an institution near her home and helped one child who did so well he was able to leave and be transferred to a skilled nursing facility.
