ELIH Foundation Year In Review

Dear Friends and Supporters,

As we close out another remarkable year, I want to take a moment to reflect on the incredible achievements of the Eastern Long Island Hospital Foundation (ELIHF) in 2024. Thanks to the generosity, passion, and commitment of supporters like you, we have made significant strides in advancing healthcare on the North Fork.

This year, we were honored to welcome Ray George to our Board of Directors, bringing with him a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to our mission. Our Golf Classic was a tremendous success, where we celebrated the dedication of Terence McLaughlin, whose contributions have been invaluable to our continued efforts. At our annual gala, we were thrilled to honor Jonathan and Maggie Tibett, whose firm support of Stony Brook Eastern Long Island Hospital (SBELIH) has made them one of the best honorees we’ve ever had. The event was a memorable evening highlighting the establishment of a Primary Stroke Center and brought our community closer together in support of our hospital.

We capped off the year with our annual 5K Walk/Run, which was not only a fun-filled day but also marked a significant milestone in our campaign to establish a new Stroke Center at Stony Brook Eastern Long Island Hospital. A special thank you to our doctors who
showcased their talents in the band, making the evening even more enjoyable and unforgettable!

Our capital campaigns this year have also been nothing short of extraordinary. We have successfully raised substantial funds for
critical projects, including:

  • The purchase of new defibrillators to enhance patient care.
  • Development of a new Primary Stroke Center which will provide life-saving treatment close to home.
  • The renovation of the ER nurses’ station and the dedication of the ER ramp.
  • The modernization of our laboratory facilities.
  • Ongoing support for nursing education, ensuring our staff remains at the forefront of medical knowledge and practice.

Each of these projects directly impacts on the quality of care we provide to our community, and none of it would be possible without your support. We are deeply grateful for your generosity and commitment.

As we look ahead to the new year, we remain dedicated to our mission of delivering exceptional healthcare services. On behalf of the entire ELIHF, I wish you and your loved ones a safe, happy, and healthy holiday season.

With warm regards and deep gratitude,
Paul Romanelli
Chairman
